ECOSYSTEMS’ FOUNDERS, RICHARD AND LAWRENCE LAMONDIN, NAMED ENDEAVOR MIAMI ENTREPRENEURS OF THE YEAR
Honored for their economic impact in South Florida
EcoSystems, a full-service water and energy conservation firm, today announces that its founders, Richard and Lawrence Lamondin have been selected as Endeavor Miami’s 2019 Entrepreneurs of the Year. The award was announced at Endeavor’s Annual High Impact Gala held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019. More than 300 leading entrepreneurs, business leaders and global influencers gathered at Faena Forum in Miami Beach for the gala to celebrate the local entrepreneurship movement and recognize Endeavor Entrepreneurs in Miami.
Brothers, Richard Lamondin, Jr. and Lawrence Lamondin, bootstrapped EcoSystems in 2012 with just $5,000, and have since built it into one of the leading water and energy conservation firms in the U.S. Their mission: to prove that conservation is good for business by designing and implementing solutions that promote smarter, more efficient uses of water and energy, improve housing affordability, and empower people and businesses to cut costs while making positive impacts on the environment.
“We are honored to be recognized by Endeavor Miami as Entrepreneurs of the Year. Seven years ago, my brother and I scraped together a few thousand dollars to create EcoSystems. Today, we couldn’t be more proud of how far we have come—not only as a business but also in supporting conservation efforts across the U.S.,” said Richard Lamondin, Jr., CEO of EcoSystems. “I have no doubt that with the support of the Endeavor team we’ll continue to experience unprecedented growth and will inspire other entrepreneurs that they too can make conservation good for business.”
Miami natives, the Lamondin brothers have led EcoSystems to its current position as the second-fastest growing company in Florida, and No. 75 on the 2019 Inc. 5000 list. They’ve completed more than 71,000 apartment unit upgrades, resulting in 34,650 metric tons of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere, over two billion gallons of fresh water saved, and over $16 million back in the pockets of property owners. With their turnkey process, property owners and renters typically save 30-65 percent on their utility bills and see returns in less than 18 months.
“We are extremely proud to see how EcoSystems has scaled its business over the last few years–fueling the engine of South Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the local economy. Endeavor Miami will keep working to support all of our entrepreneurs in their efforts to generate impact,” said Ernest Bachrach, Endeavor Miami co-chair.
EcoSystems is a water and energy conservation company whose mission is to address the challenges of water security, housing affordability, climate change, and sea-level rise—all while proving that conservation is good for business.
